NOTES:

The Horsepower rating is based on the engine speed in the R.P.M. column.

The 144, 170, 200, and 250 engines are from the same family of small-block sixes.

144 and 170 cubic-inch engine:

200 cubic-inch engine:

250 cubic-inch engine:

The 240 and 300 engines are from the same family of large-block sixes.

Engine Tag

Engine tags were placed under the coil mounting bolt on all engines starting in January 1964.

144 C.U.I engines had engine tag identification codes 12, 13, and 15.

170 C.U.I engines had engine tag identification codes 4, 9, 10, and 11.

240 C.U.I engines had engine tag identification codes 109, 110, 111, 112, 113, 114, 115, 116, 117, 118, 119, 120, and 121.
